Holly Hunter, an American film and actress, is well-known for her stellar performances in movies like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Holly Hunter has won numerous awards and awards, among them the Oscar for her movie Piano. Her acting career began in Broadway through a myriad of Broadway and Off Broadway projects. Since her childhood, she performed Helen Keller in a play in the fifth grade. Following a bout of mumps, she went deaf on one side of her ears. However, this was not enough to stop her desire to become an actor. While in college, she studied drama after which she relocated in New York City with her ambitions in mind. She was introduced to Beth Henley in an elevator and the pair collaborated on Broadway Crimes of the Heart, Hunter's first film. After she was settled in Los Angeles, she began to look for film roles. The role she was offered came as an actress supporting the leading character Swing Shift. She has since appeared in many television series and movies in a long career that spans more than three decades. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and she also received an award called the Women in Film Lucy Award.
